OGC Nice ultras face prison terms for November 2025 player assault

The Nice prosecutor’s office has asked a court to impose prison sentences of one to two years on two former leaders of the Populaire Sud ultra group, identified as Anthony D., 32, and Mohamed C., 42. They are accused of facilitating an ambush on OGC Nice players after the team’s 3‑1 defeat to Lorient on 30 November 2025. More than 200 supporters blocked the players’ bus at the club’s training centre; the two ultras persuaded the squad to walk the final metres, after which Jérémie Boga and Terem Moffi were spat on, insulted and violently jostled. The club filed a complaint the next day. The criminal court in Nice will deliver its judgment on 11 September.

The defence argues the accused did not strike blows and tried to prevent a confrontation, contesting the prosecutor’s view that their actions enabled the assault. The case highlights ongoing concerns over football‑related violence in France.
