OGDC begins gas production in Sindh and leads transparency rankings

Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has commenced gas and condensate production from the Bitrism East-1 exploratory well in the Khairpur district of Sindh, Pakistan. The well is currently producing 7.0 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and 200 barrels of condensate per day from the Basal Sands. To facilitate production, OGDC installed a 28-kilometre flowline to connect the well to the Sinjhoro Plant, with the processed gas being supplied to the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) network.

Separately, OGDC has been ranked first among 104 publicly listed companies in Transparency International Pakistan’s 2026 Transparency in Corporate Reporting Assessment (TRAC). The company earned an overall score of 92.71%, placing it in the ‘Significantly Transparent’ category. OGDC achieved perfect scores of 100% in anti-corruption programmes, organisational transparency, domestic financial reporting, and gender, non-discrimination and disability inclusion.
