Oggiono and San Vero Milis host memorial tributes for local victims

In Oggiono, a concert organized by friends and family honored the memory of Alessandro Segreto, a young resident who died in a traffic accident in 2016. The event featured performances of Vasco Rossi songs by the band Asilo, with appearances by notable musicians Andrea Braido and Andrea Innesto, and drew attendees from across northern Italy.

In the coastal hamlet of Mandriola, part of San Vero Milis, the community gathered for a mass to remember marine biologist Monica Montefalcone and her daughter Giorgia, who both perished during a cave dive in the Maldives in May. Husband Carlo Sommacal expressed gratitude for the support, and plans were announced to scatter Monica’s ashes at Capo Mannu, fulfilling her wish to rest forever at sea.

Both gatherings reflect the strong local solidarity in Italy, as residents and friends come together to commemorate loved ones through music, religious ceremony, and shared remembrance.
