Nigerian political figures mobilize for 2027 elections

In Ekiti State, Dr. Wole Oluyede, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate from the June 2026 governorship election, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his work in security, infrastructure, and human capital development. Oluyede expressed his intention to collaborate with the Governor to ensure free and fair elections and to secure a landslide victory for President Bola Tinubu in the January 2027 general elections.

In a separate political development, Ogun State indigenes residing in Enugu State held a reception for PDP Deputy Governorship candidate Hajia Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo. Led by Dr. Lekan Oladapo, the group expressed support for the PDP manifesto of governorship candidate Oladipupo Adebutu. The group vowed to work toward removing the APC in the 2027 elections, citing a need for improved infrastructure and better utilization of the state’s cultural and herbal resources for economic growth.
