Ogun State completes 108-unit Buhari Estate in Abeokuta
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has completed the President Muhammadu Buhari Estate in Abeokuta, transforming a stalled project into a 108-unit modern residential community. The estate, located along the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway, was inherited in an incomplete state and faced potential forfeiture due to legal disputes regarding unpaid contractor obligations.
The Abiodun administration resolved the legal issues through an out-of-court settlement and implemented a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Under this arrangement, the state provided the land and infrastructure, while private developers managed the construction and sale of the units.
The completed development consists of 108 four-bedroom detached and semi-detached duplexes. The gated community includes amenities such as internal roads, street lighting, a sporting center, a clubhouse, a children’s playground, 24-hour power supply, and waste management facilities. The estate is scheduled to be commissioned by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
