Ogun State Council Approves Road, Housing and Chieftaincy Projects

The Ogun State Executive Council approved a suite of infrastructure initiatives. The plan includes building 450 two‑bedroom semi‑detached bungalows, constructing 28 official quarters for members of the Ogun State House of Assembly, adding 28 duplexes at the Ibara Government Reservation Area, and reconstructing the Ogun State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja. Five strategic road projects across the state’s three senatorial districts were also sanctioned: the Okun‑Owa–Ijebu‑Ode Road, the Ago‑Iwoye–Ijebu‑Igbo–Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Road, Phase One of the Odeda‑Olugbo Road, the Ayobo (Mopeola)–Lafenwa Junction Road, and the Agbala Road.

In parallel, the council approved the upgrading and formal recognition of several traditional stools, including the Akoko of Tongeji Island, the Onitafin of Orile Itafin, the Olu of Orile Itori‑Odo, and the creation or upgrade of coronet stools under the Ijebu, Egba and Yewa Traditional Councils. The projects are presented as part of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s agenda to improve connectivity, stimulate economic activity, enhance residents’ quality of life, and preserve cultural heritage.
