Ogun State courts remand men in burglary and fraud cases
A 24‑year‑old man, Femi Afolabi, was remanded at the Oba Correctional Centre after appearing before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court on charges of burglary and theft of valuables worth roughly N794,000 from a shop in Ijana Alapako Village, Owode‑Egba. He pleaded not guilty and was denied bail pending further conditions.
In a separate case, 54‑year‑old Olatokunbo Williams faced two counts of fraud and obtaining money under false pretenses in an Ota Magistrates Court. Prosecutors allege he defrauded a woman of N7.5 million between 2018 and 2021, claiming the funds were for political office assistance but diverting them for personal use. He also pleaded not guilty and was granted bail.
Both cases involve alleged violations of the Criminal Code of Ogun State, Nigeria.
