Ogun State: Ex-convict allegedly stabs colleague to death in Akute

A man recently released from prison allegedly stabbed a colleague, identified as Dada, to death in Akute, within the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday near the Akute bridge, an area reportedly used as a hideout by criminals.

According to eyewitnesses, the confrontation began as an argument. The victim, Dada, allegedly stabbed the suspect in the hand first. The suspect reportedly left the scene but returned a few minutes later armed with a weapon, stabbing Dada in the neck. Although bystanders attempted to apply pressure to the wound, Dada died while being transported to the hospital.

The incident caused panic in the community, leading some local shop owners to close their businesses and flee. Police have been notified, and a source described the suspect as a notorious individual known for criminal activities in the area.
