Ogun State Governor Abiodun promotes tree planting and electoral peace
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has issued two distinct calls to action regarding environmental sustainability and political stability within the state.
During the 2026 Ogun Tree Planting Day, Abiodun urged residents to participate in tree planting to combat erosion, protect ecosystems, and mitigate the effects of climate change, such as flooding and land degradation. He emphasized that environmental protection is a collective responsibility essential for securing a sustainable future.
Separately, Abiodun addressed traditional rulers during the inauguration of Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo as the new Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas. The Governor called on monarchs to use their grassroots influence to promote peaceful and responsible participation in the 2027 general elections, urging them to discourage violence, thuggery, and division among their subjects.
