Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun declares high alert over rising insecurity

Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun announced that Ogun State is on high alert in response to increasing terrorism, banditry and kidnapping across Nigeria. Speaking at an APC strategic meeting in Abeokuta, he said the administration will deploy technology‑driven solutions, boost surveillance, and place security personnel at key points to protect lives and property.

He highlighted special measures for schools, emphasizing increased monitoring and community engagement to keep educational institutions safe. The governor also noted a shift toward human‑capital development and social programmes to mitigate economic challenges, while reaffirming collaboration with security agencies and promoting a peaceful environment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
