Ogun State police dismantle baby factory syndicate in Mowe

The Ogun State Police Command has dismantled an illegal ‘baby factory’ syndicate in Abaren Village, Mowe, following an intelligence-led operation on August 24, 2026. The raid targeted a facility on Toluwalase Street suspected of involvement in human trafficking and illegal adoption activities.

During the operation, police rescued two heavily pregnant women, aged 23 and 20, and recovered four children. Six suspects were arrested, including Florence Glory Ogbona, Magdalene Julius, Chidike Egwuonwu, Onyechu Chidike, Stephen Ogbona, and an attending nurse, Oseni Kusamotu Idaya.

Follow-up investigations led detectives to a local hospital where a 26-year-old woman had recently delivered a baby boy. Authorities reported that the newborn could not be accounted for while the mother was receiving medical care. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation.
