Ogun State road accident kills influencer Esther Meinzide and sister

Nigerian social media influencer and chef Esther Meinzide, known as Big Esther, died alongside her sister in a fatal road accident in Ogun State. The crash occurred on the Ijebu-Ode-Ore Expressway near Bethel on Monday, October 6.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported that the accident involved a head-on collision between a commercial Toyota Hiace bus and a Sino Gas truck. Preliminary findings suggest speed violation was the probable cause, noting that the road was wet and slippery due to rainfall at the time of the incident.

The crash resulted in nine fatalities, consisting of three males and six females. Meinzide, a recent Philosophy graduate from Delta State University, was reportedly traveling toward Delta State when the accident occurred. Her death has prompted widespread mourning across social media platforms.
