Ogun State So-Safe Corps arrests man for alleged rape of missing woman

Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) have arrested 29-year-old Salaudeen Toheeb for the alleged rape of a 22-year-old woman in Ota, Ogun State.

The victim, identified as Boluwatife, had been reported missing by her family prior to her discovery in the suspect’s custody at Olohunda. According to reports from the Corps, the arrest occurred on Saturday after intelligence was received that the suspect was seen with a girl matching the victim's description.

During preliminary questioning, Toheeb claimed he encountered the woman while riding his motorcycle on a Thursday evening. He stated that she appeared distressed and had nowhere to go, prompting him to take her to his residence and provide food. The suspect allegedly attempted to force himself on the woman in the early hours of Friday after she resisted his initial advances. The woman was eventually recognized by local residents while the suspect was out charging his phone, leading to an alert being sent to her father.
