Ogun Waterside supports proposed Dangote Deep Seaport project

The Ogun Waterside Local Government has pledged its full support for the proposed Dangote Deep Seaport project. During a high-level stakeholders’ meeting, local authorities described the initiative as a transformative investment capable of accelerating industrialization, creating employment, and establishing the coastal council as a major maritime and logistics hub in Nigeria.

The meeting included representatives from the Dangote Group, community leaders, and traditional rulers from the Ode Omi and Irokun Kingdoms. Executive Chairman Hon. AbdulGaniyu Adetoye Odunnoiki expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun for approving the Free Trade Zone in Ode Omi and Irokun as the site for the seaport.

Odunnoiki emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and unity to ensure sustainable development. He assured investors that the local government would provide an enabling environment while protecting the rights and welfare of host communities. Representing the Dangote Group, Dr. Sulaimon Ibrahim reaffirmed the company’s commitment to responsible investment and community engagement.
