O’Hare Plane Pull raises funds for Special Olympics Illinois

More than 110 teams participated in the 18th annual O’Hare Plane Pull at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to raise funds for Special Olympics Illinois. The event, presented by United Airlines and co-hosted by the Chicago Department of Aviation and the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run, challenged teams of up to 20 people to pull a United Airlines 737 aircraft.

The aircraft, weighing over 95,000 pounds, was moved across a 12-foot distance. To participate, each team was required to raise a minimum of $1,000 to support sports programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state. The event drew over 2,000 participants and supporters to the United Airlines Cargo Bay.
