O’Higgins region collects 40 tons of tires for recycling

A regional recycling campaign in the O’Higgins region of Chile has successfully collected approximately 40 tons of end-of-life tires (NFU). The initiative was led by the Seremi of the Environment of O’Higgins in collaboration with the municipalities of Codegua, Coinco, Machalí, and Pichidegua.

The collected tires will be transported to the Arrigoni Ambiental NFU plant in Mostazal. There, the materials will undergo valorization processes to be reintegrated into new uses, preventing the waste from ending up in landfills or natural ecosystems. The project aims to advance the implementation of the Extended Producer Responsibility (REP) Law in the region.
