Ohio Attorney General sues retailer J. Peterman
The Ohio Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against Cincinnati-area retailer J. Peterman, alleging violations of state consumer protection laws. The company, which gained widespread recognition through its fictionalized portrayal on the 1990s sitcom ‘Seinfeld’, is accused of taking money from customers without delivering merchandise or providing refunds.
According to the lawsuit filed in August, J. Peterman and its associated website, Territory Ahead, failed to fulfill orders, delayed or refused refunds, and ceased communication with customers seeking assistance. Both the J. Peterman and Territory Ahead websites currently indicate they are no longer accepting new orders.
