Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton sparked controversy after stating she will enforce Ohio’s ban on transgender athletes, saying, “I do not support boys playing in girls sports… I will enforce and uphold the law.” In response, more than 40 LGBTQ+ leaders were invited to a Zoom meeting with Acton’s campaign staff, but the virtual session turned chaotic: several participants were blocked or removed, the candidate did not attend, and critics described the event as a “shitshow.”
