Ohio expands Field to Food Bank deer donation program

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife is inviting white-tailed deer hunters to participate in the Field to Food Bank program during the upcoming hunting season. The initiative aims to simultaneously manage deer populations and combat food insecurity within the state.

Hunters can donate field-dressed deer at designated locations throughout Ohio. These donations are transported to the Pickaway Correctional Institution’s meat processing facility, where they are processed and packaged. Following processing, the ODNR coordinates with the Ohio Association of Foodbanks to distribute the venison to regional food banks and pantries to provide high-quality protein to families in need.
