Ohio expects vibrant autumn foliage across the state
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) expects vibrant autumn colors across the state this season. Due to the absence of drought conditions and favorable weather forecasts, officials anticipate strong red, yellow, and orange pigments in the foliage.
Peak color timing is expected to vary by region: mid-October in northern Ohio, mid-to-late October in central and northern areas, and late October to early November in southern Ohio. The ODNR will provide weekly updates to assist residents and travelers in locating the best viewing spots.
In Southeast Ohio, Hocking Hills is preparing for seasonal celebrations. Events scheduled for the weekend of October 24–25, 2026, include the Hocking State Forest Fall Color Tour, featuring wagon rides and forestry demonstrations, and an open house at Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve.
