Ohio high school sports: Football upsets and volleyball tournament results

In Ohio high school football, week four featured several standout performances. Philo secured an upset against Tri-Valley with a dramatic, untimed-down touchdown catch by Rusty Trout. In West Muskingum’s victory over Morgan, Hayden Wakefield earned player of the game honors after recording two touchdown passes and a defensive interception. Despite a loss to Garaway, Khris Murdock was recognized as the player of the game for the Zanesville Blue Devils following his defensive contributions.

In girls volleyball, Division I team Mentor achieved a significant five-set upset against the top-ranked Division II team, Magnificat. In Division II, Big Walnut won the LVOA Tournament at Pickerington North, defeating Bishop Hartley, Bloom-Carroll, and Pickerington North without dropping a set. Meanwhile, in Division III, Sheridan entered the top 15 rankings after a strong showing at the LVOA Tournament, including wins over Newark and Bishop Hartley.
