Ohio releases 2025-2026 school report cards

The Ohio Department of Education has released its school report cards for the 2025-2026 school year. Districts and schools are rated on a scale of one to five stars, where three stars indicate meeting state standards and five stars signify significantly exceeding them.

Statewide data shows improvements in literacy, with English language arts proficiency reaching a five-year high of 62.2%.

Individual district performances varied. The Bowling Green City School District earned 4.5 stars, placing it in the top 12% of all Ohio school districts. The district reported a 14% improvement in third-grade literacy proficiency. In Wood County, Perrysburg achieved a five-star rating, while Eastwood also earned 4.5 stars.

The Lisbon School District reported an overall rating of 3.5 stars. Within the district, McKinley Elementary received 4.5 stars, highlighted by five-star ratings in progress and gap closing. David Anderson Jr./Sr. High School earned 3.5 stars, maintaining a 96% graduation rate and a five-star rating in college, career, workforce, and military readiness.
