Ohio Senate poll shows Sherrod Brown leading Jon Husted

A recent Fox News poll reveals contrasting results for Republican candidates in Ohio. In the race for governor, Vivek Ramaswamy leads his opponent Casey Putsch with 50% of the vote compared to 48%. Ramaswamy, who previously won the Republican primary for governor with 82.2% of the vote, stated his goal is to make Ohio the number one state in the country.

In the Senate race, Democrat Sherrod Brown maintains an 8-point lead over Republican Jon Husted. The poll shows 53% of voters prefer Brown, while 45% favor Husted. Voters identified inflation and the cost of living as their primary concern, with 40% citing these issues as the most important factor in their decision, surpassing healthcare and immigration.

Political affiliations are also influencing voter sentiment. Approximately 51% of respondents expressed concern that Husted is “too close” to Donald Trump, while 44% expressed concern that Brown is “too close” to the Democratic establishment. Despite these concerns, Brown maintains strong support within the Democratic base, with 97% support among party members.
