Ohio Senators address driver's license policy and healthcare research
Ohio U.S. Senators Jon Husted and Bernie Moreno are calling for federal intervention to prevent states from issuing driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants. The push follows a fatal crash in Fulton County involving a driver allegedly licensed in Connecticut. Senator Moreno argued that such licenses should not be granted to those in the country without legal authorization, while the Ohio Department of Public Safety confirmed that Ohio does not issue any form of ID credentials to undocumented immigrants.
Separately, Senator Husted visited the Cleveland Innovation District to celebrate the opening of two new research buildings at the Cleveland Clinic. These facilities, supported by the State of Ohio and JobsOhio, represent a significant investment in medical research and education. During the visit, Husted also toured Kent State University’s Independence Campus, home to the nation’s only fully public podiatric medical school.
