Ohio State defeats Butler 82-73 in basketball exhibition

Ohio State secured an 82-73 victory over the Butler Bulldogs in their final preseason exhibition game at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. Sophomore forward Amare Bynum led the Buckeyes with 23 points and six rebounds.

After falling behind early in the first half, Ohio State took a 45-38 lead into halftime. The Buckeyes extended their advantage to a 12-0 run in the second half, reaching a peak lead of 72-55. Although Butler attempted a comeback with nine unanswered points, Ohio State maintained control through defensive pressure and late free throws.

The Buckeyes' defense forced 16 turnovers and limited Butler to 38% shooting from the field. Ohio State will begin its 2026-27 regular season on November 2 against BYU.
