Collegiate sports: Ohio State and Wisconsin secure key wins and losses

Various collegiate athletic programs reported recent results across hockey and field hockey.

In women’s hockey, No. 2 Ohio State completed a sweep of No. 1 Wisconsin, winning the series with a 5-3 victory in the second game following a 2-1 loss in the first.

In men’s hockey, the Wisconsin men’s team won their exhibition game 94-71 against UW-Parkside. The No. 7 Wisconsin men’s hockey team swept Minnesota State with a 4-1 win in their second game. Meanwhile, RPI defeated Ohio State 3-0 in a nonconference matchup, and Michigan State secured a 5-1 victory over Northern Michigan.

In field hockey, the Ohio State women’s team suffered two losses to Rutgers, including a 3-2 defeat in a penalty shootout after overcoming a two-goal deficit. Additionally, the Ohio State women’s team secured a 2-0 shutout victory against Minnesota, and the Ohio field hockey team fell 5-0 to No. 12 Indiana.
