Ohio State football evaluates offensive line positions during fall camp
Ohio State University began its fall camp with a focus on the offensive line, where several players are competing for starting roles. Senior left tackle Austin Siereveld, who started at left tackle last season, has been shifted between right guard, right tackle and left tackle as coaches assess the lineup. Ian Moore started the first day at left tackle, prompting Siereveld to move to right guard, while Luke Montgomery is slated for left guard and Carson Hinzman at center. Joshua Padilla earned a starting spot at right guard after the second day of camp, moving Siereveld again to left tackle and pushing Moore to the second team. The left tackle position is highlighted as crucial for protecting quarterback Julian Sayin's blind side. Ohio State has four weeks to finalize its offensive line before opening the season against Ball State, followed by a road game against Texas's defensive line.
The ongoing competition underscores the importance of the line in the Buckeyes' offensive strategy and sets the stage for the team's early-season performance.
