Ohio State University breaks ground on Timashev Technology Tower

The Ohio State University has officially broken ground on the Timashev Technology Tower in Columbus, Ohio. The eight-story, 103,000-square-foot facility is located within the university’s Innovation District and is designed to foster collaboration between students, researchers, and the business community.

The tower will house the Center for Software Innovation and provide space for startups emerging from the BuildX student entrepreneurship initiative. To support technical commercialization, the building will feature flexible co-working spaces, offices, and shared wet labs equipped for chemical and biological research.

University President Ravi Bellamkonda noted the strategic location of the tower near major entities such as Google and Coloma. The project aims to retain innovation within the state by providing the necessary infrastructure for researchers and entrepreneurs to transition ideas from university labs into viable companies and technologies.
