Ohio teen charged in alleged White House UFC attack plot

Federal prosecutors in Ohio have filed a criminal complaint charging 19‑year‑old Tycen Proper of Knox County with conspiracy, attempted murder and firearms offenses. The complaint alleges that Proper participated in a plot to carry out a coordinated attack on a UFC event scheduled for June 14, 2026 on the White House lawn. Investigators say the plan involved explosives, drones and armed shooters, with detailed maps, sniper positions and drone launch sites identified in encrypted chats.

Proper is reported to have been recruited into an online extremist network that called itself “Vanguard of the Old,” which claimed former military experience and promoted anti‑government views. The FBI obtained search warrants, seized firearms, tactical gear and thousands of rounds of ammunition from Proper’s home. Family members alerted authorities after noticing his purchase of camping supplies, ballistic plates and large quantities of ammunition using graduation money.

The complaint notes that the plot was discussed with roughly 19 individuals through platforms such as Discord, Signal and TikTok, and that the conspirators had drafted escape routes and safe‑house locations. Proper was taken into custody and later hospitalized for evaluation of homicidal ideation.
