Ohio voters approve various local tax levies
Voters in several Ohio regions approved various tax levies during recent elections to fund essential local services.
In Scioto County, residents approved all nine local tax measures on the ballot. These include funding for police protection, road repairs, flood defense, and municipal operations. In Portsmouth, the city operations levy passed with approximately 62% support. New Boston residents also approved a flood defense levy with nearly 68% support. Additionally, police levies were approved in Clay, Nile, and Washington townships, while Porter Township voters supported road funding.
In Cuyahoga County, voters considered levies to fund safety net services. Issue 10, a levy for the Board of Developmental Disabilities, aimed to provide housing, healthcare, and job training. Issue 11 sought to fund health and human services, including senior programs, addiction treatment, and support for MetroHealth Medical Center.
