Ohri Police Deploy “Safe City” Traffic Monitoring System
From 25 June 2026 the Traffic Police of Ohri in North Macedonia began a staged rollout of the modern “Safe City” traffic‑monitoring system. After final testing, expert crews activated safety cameras on the highway segment near Novo Sella in the Debarca municipality.
The project will next cover the road stretch between the villages of Gorenci and Trebenishtë, other high‑traffic routes, and corridors 8 and 10 within the Ohri traffic‑police zone. Although the equipment is already installed, it is still in a technical inspection phase and does not yet issue fines. Authorities say the system is intended to provide continuous traffic supervision, lower accident rates, detect violations, improve driver discipline and raise overall road safety. The posted speed limit on the monitored highway section is 100 km/h.
