Ohrid Summer festival launches new jazz concert series

The Ohrid Summer festival has launched a new program titled ‘Jazz Evenings,’ featuring six concerts by prominent domestic and international musicians from August 13 to 16. The performances will take place at the St. Sophia Church, its courtyard, and the Dolni Saraj stage.

The lineup includes Macedonian singer and composer Krste Rodzevski, who will promote his album ‘Orthodoxia Kai Thanatos,’ and the Dine Donef Trio. The National Jazz Orchestra of Macedonia, conducted by Vladimir Nikolov, will perform ‘Macedonian Dreams,’ a program inspired by local traditions, featuring West African trumpeter Peter Somua as a special guest.

Other scheduled performers include British saxophonist Nubaya Garcia and the British ensemble Kiioto, led by musicians Lou Rhodes and Roan Heath. For evenings featuring two concerts, a single ticket is valid for both musical events.
