Oia Hosts 31st Encontro dos Pobos International Folk Festival

The town of Oia in Spain’s Baixo Miño region will stage the 31st edition of the Encontro dos Pobos International Festival on Sunday at 20:00 in Plaza Centinela. Organized by the Galician group Do Lusco ó Fusco, the free concert will feature local ensembles Tra‑lo Mosteiro (Oia) and Do Lusco ó Fusco (A Guarda) alongside Romanian folk groups Doina Ilfovului and Vatra Buftei, showcasing traditional music, dance and costumes.

The festival is part of a four‑day programme that visits the municipalities of Tomiño, O Rosal, Oia and A Guarda, turning the Baixo Miño area into a hub for cultural exchange and intangible heritage. Traffic around Plaza Centinela and Oia’s historic centre will be closed from 19:00 to 22:00 to ensure safety and smooth operation.
