Oia to host immersive Galician sky experience
The rehabilitated Plaza de Abastos in Oia will host “Ceo no Camiño: unha viaxe polo ceo de Galicia” on October 31 starting at 18:00. The initiative combines virtual reality, a photographic exhibition, and a portable planetarium to showcase the Galician sky, sunsets, and starry nights.
The event is designed for the general public, including families, pilgrims, and tourism professionals. The schedule includes a photographic exhibition opening, a scientific talk about the Galician sky, guided tours, 360-degree virtual reality experiences, and planetarium sessions.
Organized by LuzLux under the “O Teu Xacobeo” program by the Xunta de Galicia, the event highlights Oia’s status as a recently declared Starlight Tourist Destination, aiming to promote the quality of its night sky as natural and landscape heritage.
