OIC establishes Ministerial Council for Cybersecurity in Riyadh
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers has approved the establishment of the OIC Ministerial Council for Cybersecurity. This initiative follows a proposal submitted by Saudi Arabia.
The new council will serve as a specialized body under the OIC, acting as the primary reference for all cybersecurity-related matters within the organization. Its objectives include enhancing cybersecurity across member states to protect vital interests and national security, deepening cooperation, and representing member states' interests in international cybersecurity organizations.
Headquartered in Riyadh, the council will include a General Secretariat and an Executive Office, both to be located in Saudi Arabia. Each will be headed by a representative from the host country. The council will be composed of cybersecurity authorities from the various OIC member states.
