Oil and gas union leader seeks return to work for displaced employees
Luis Sosa, general secretary of the Private Oil and Gas Union, has expressed concern regarding oil workers who have not yet returned to their duties despite progress in the sector. While some reincorporations have occurred, many employees remain waiting to be called back to work.
Regarding the company Roch, Sosa explained that eight workers involved in well repair and abandonment will remain with the firm until those specific tasks are completed. The remaining personnel will stay under the company's umbrella until approximately February, at which point they are expected to be absorbed by the operator that wins the upcoming tender. Sosa noted that Roch has begun paying corresponding indemnities.
To avoid past issues experienced with YPF, Sosa emphasized the need to define the continuity of operations before February. Additionally, he highlighted the potential of the CA-12 area, noting that while studies show promising gas and oil quality, the region requires companies willing to make significant investments.
