Oil drilling activities expand in Argentina's San Jorge Basin
Oil and gas drilling operations are expanding in the San Jorge Basin across the Argentine provinces of Chubut and Santa Cruz. In Chubut, PECOM has commenced its initial drilling program at the Manantiales Behr field. The Venver 51 team is currently drilling a series of 22 new wells, including producers and injectors for both oil and gas, with an average depth of 1,150 meters. This program is expected to continue through the first months of 2027.
In Santa Cruz, Governor Claudio Vidal highlighted the start of a new drilling campaign by Crown Point Energía. The Governor noted that the reactivation of hydrocarbon activities is essential for sustaining employment and stimulating the provincial economy, benefiting sectors such as logistics, transport, and civil works. Other companies, including CGC, are also active in the region's drilling efforts.
