Oil prices rise as Brent crude exceeds $92 per barrel
Global oil prices are rising, with Brent crude surpassing $92 per barrel. This increase is driven by security concerns regarding shipping through the Hormuz Strait, where conflicting reports exist regarding the safety and openness of the maritime route. While US President Donald Trump stated the strait remains open, Iran has claimed the route is closed, leading some shipping companies to reroute vessels.
In the United States, WTI crude rose to $85.94 per barrel. Markets are also monitoring upcoming US Department of Energy data on oil inventories, following reports from the American Petroleum Institute of a 328,000-barrel decrease in US stocks.
Regional fuel price dynamics show significant divergence. In Poland, fuel prices have dropped sharply due to government intervention, making diesel approximately €0.15 cheaper per liter and gasoline over €0.20 cheaper than in Slovakia. In contrast, fuel prices in Slovakia have remained relatively stable, with only symbolic changes in weekly averages.
