Oizumi High School students host community showcase at Aeon Mall Ota

Students from Oizumi High School organized and hosted the ‘Oizumi High School Exploration Event’ at Aeon Mall Ota on August 28. The initiative was funded by the Gunma Prefectural Board of Education’s new ‘SAH+’ program, specifically through its ‘Idea Realization Budget,’ marking the first time this budget has been used for such a project in the prefecture.

Sixty-seven students participated in the event, showcasing the school’s four specialized departments through hands-on workshops, including herbarium making, food science demonstrations, and biological experiments. The event also featured multilingual school introductions in Portuguese, English, and Spanish to reflect the local community's diversity, alongside panel discussions led by students.

In a separate community gesture, Etchutani Photo Studio in Akita City is preparing to gift photographs from the 50th National High School Cultural Festival (Akita Sogen) to 76 members of the Kumamoto Kita High School brass band. The gesture aims to provide lasting memories for the students who participated in the festival despite the impact of the Kumamoto earthquake.
