Japanese conglomerate OJI Holdings has officially commenced construction of a $110 million sterile paper carton packaging plant in the Long Thanh High-Tech Industrial Park, Dong Nai province, Vietnam. Operating under the brand Oji Liquid Pak (OLP), the facility will span approximately 5.7 hectares.
The plant is designed with a maximum capacity of 8 billion cartons per year and is expected to begin operations in 2028. It will focus on producing sterile packaging for the liquid food and beverage industry, serving both the domestic Vietnamese market and OJI’s broader supply network across Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Terauchi Mikito, CEO of OJI Holdings Corporation, stated that Vietnam is a vital market and is becoming a strategic production hub for the group in Southeast Asia. The project is also expected to create over 200 new jobs and will incorporate circular economy principles, focusing on the collection and recycling of paper cartons.
