OJK and Ministry of Health strengthen Indonesia's health insurance ecosystem

The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) is collaborating with the Ministry of Health to strengthen the health insurance ecosystem. Through the establishment of a Task Force for Strengthening the Health Insurance Ecosystem via Coordination Among Guarantee Providers (KAPJ), stakeholders including insurance companies, hospitals, and BPJS Kesehatan aim to create more efficient, integrated, and sustainable healthcare financing.

In a related effort to improve consumer protection, Asuransi Astra has emphasized the necessity of policy literacy to prevent claim obstructions caused by data discrepancies or policy violations, such as inactive driver's licenses or unauthorized vehicle use. To support digital transformation, the company has introduced features like Virtual Survey via the myGarda app and Express Discharge services for medical users. OJK officials noted that transparency and education remain fundamental rights for consumers within the financial services sector.
