OJK and Natuna Regency partner to boost financial literacy

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) of Riau Islands is collaborating with the Natuna Regency Library and Archives Service (Disperpusip) to enhance financial literacy and inclusion in border communities.

A key component of this partnership is a Training of Trainer (ToT) program focused on sustainable financial planning and awareness of illegal financial activities. This training will target librarians across 37 villages in the Natuna Regency, empowering them to act as financial education agents for their local residents.

Additionally, the two organizations are exploring the use of village libraries as agents for 'Laku Pandai' (branchless banking services). This initiative aims to provide rural populations with easier access to essential financial services, such as savings, withdrawals, and bill payments, without the need for long-distance travel. As part of the support, OJK has provided 17 financial education books to the local library service.
