OJK Boosts Financial Literacy and Targets Fraud Schemes in Indonesia

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) held a financial‑literacy workshop at SLB Negeri 1 Painan, a special‑needs school in South Pesisir Regency. Coordinated with PT BPR Samudera (Perseroda), the local government and the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team, the event was part of the national "GENCARKAN" campaign to teach children saving habits and responsible money management.

From January to May 2026 OJK recorded 17,105 consumer complaints, chiefly about illegal online lending platforms. Acting head Dicky Kartikoyono said the regulator’s Satgas PASTI task force shut down 951 illegal lenders, halted eight illegal investment offers and issued dozens of written warnings, fines and sanctions to financial service providers for violating consumer‑protection rules.
