OJK designates Alex Widi Kristiono as candidate for Indonesia Stock Exchange commissioner

The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) has designated Alex Widi Kristiono as a candidate for the Substitute Member of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the 2024-2028 term. The appointment is subject to approval by shareholders during an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPSLB) scheduled for August 12, 2026.

Separately, OJK Executive Head of Capital Market Supervision Hasan Fawzi noted that the Indonesian capital market is working to strengthen its resilience amid global and domestic pressures throughout 2026. Despite the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) correcting by 25.87% and market capitalization decreasing by 29.26% as of August 7, 2026, the market has shown strength. This resilience is supported by national economic growth exceeding 5% in the first half of the year and a significant increase in the number of investors, which reached 30.27 million Single Investor Identifications (SID), a 48.67% year-on-year growth.
