OJK Papua provides financial literacy education to Jayapura students
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) of Papua Province is conducting financial management education for students at Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi 75 in Jayapura. The initiative aims to establish healthy financial habits and independence in the younger generation from an early age.
Through programs such as 'Hari Indonesia Menabung' (HIM) and 'Puncak Bulan Literasi Keuangan' (BLK), students are being encouraged to develop saving habits. As part of the HIM 2026 activities, ceremonial openings of 'Tabungan Simpanan Pelajar' (SimPel) accounts were held for participants in collaboration with the financial services industry.
OJK Papua Head Fatwa Aulia stated that increasing financial literacy is a strategic step to help students manage money effectively and understand the benefits of saving. Furthermore, the program aims to increase awareness regarding digital financial risks, including fraud and the unwise use of financial services.
