Ojukwu family commemorates 60th anniversary of Sir Odumegwu Ojukwu’s death

The family and associates of Sir Louis Philip Odumegwu Ojukwu are organizing a year-long commemoration to mark the 60th anniversary of his death. The late businessman, a prominent Nigerian philanthropist and entrepreneur, passed away on September 13, 1966.

To preserve his legacy, the family is reviving several initiatives, including the annual Sir LP Odumegwu Ojukwu prizes for top graduating students in Business Administration and Estate Management at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). The value of these prizes has been increased, and current winners have been advised to contact Ojukwu Transport Limited (OTL) to claim them.

Other planned activities include a memorial mass, the development of scholarships, and plans for a memorial hospital. The commemoration will also involve the Sir Odumegwu Ojukwu Hall at the university’s Enugu campus and the participation of OTL, the company founded by the late businessman.
