ŞOK Marketler absorbs UCZ Mağazacılık, ending the chain's 14‑year run

UCZ Mağazacılık, a Turkish discount‑store chain that launched in 2012 with ten outlets and grew to more than 800 stores, has ceased operations after its assets and liabilities were transferred to ŞOK Marketler. The merger was completed following approval by the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (SPK) and the formal filing on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). All shares of UCZ were transferred to ŞOK Marketler Ticaret A.Ş., and the legal entity of UCZ was dissolved.

The integration ends the involvement of founders Turgay Ciner, Mehmet Fatih Saraç and Yiğit Şardan, and follows UCZ’s earlier acquisition by Yıldız Holding in 2016, which had already begun converting its stores to the ŞOK format. With the merger, the UCZ brand disappears from the Turkish retail landscape.
