OK opens new heavy transport charging parks in Korsør and Køge

Energy company OK is opening two new charging parks for heavy transport in Køge and Korsør to improve infrastructure for electric trucks crossing Zealand.

The facility in Korsør will feature Zealand’s first public megawatt charger, capable of a 1,000 kW output. This technology allows trucks with MCS plugs to charge from 20 to 80 percent in approximately 30 minutes, providing up to 500 kilometers of additional range. The site near the Great Belt Bridge will also include three additional charging points (400-600 kW) and amenities such as dining and toilet facilities.

In Køge, OK is adding two 400 kW charging points at an existing station shared with Uno-X. Claus Linnemann, commercial director at OK, emphasized that rapid charging is essential for the transport industry where time is a critical factor. The company plans to expand its heavy transport network further with upcoming locations in Padborg and Aarslev.
