Okame-do announces new confectionery products in Aichi
Okame-do, a traditional Japanese confectionery company founded in 1950 in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, has announced two new product launches scheduled for October 1, 2026.
The company will release the ‘Ogura Butter Anmaki’, a new snack designed to merge Aichi’s cafe culture with local Mikawa confectionery traditions. The product features Hokkaido red bean paste and butter whip made from local Toyohashi dairy provider Chuo Seinyu, wrapped in chewy anmaki dough and branded with an original Ogura toast-inspired stamp.
Additionally, Okame-do will introduce an experiential dining menu at its Kominka Cafe called ‘Steamed Hokuhoku Oni Manju’. This menu allows customers to steam the traditional local sweet, Oni Manju, in a bamboo steamer for approximately three minutes. Diners can customize their experience with five different toppings, including butter, maple syrup, chocolate, vanilla ice cream, and red bean paste.
