Okamedo renovates seasonal Japanese-style apple pie
Okamedo, a traditional Japanese confectionery company founded in 1950 and based in Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, has announced a complete overhaul of its seasonal ‘Japanese-style apple pie’. The renewal focuses on enhancing the flavor and texture of the fruit.
The filling has been changed from a mixture of white bean paste and honey-soaked apples to a homemade cinnamon-infused honey-soaked apple filling designed to provide a crisp texture and bright acidity. To complement this change, the pastry dough has also been reformulated to better highlight buttery notes.
In addition to the recipe changes, the product features new packaging consisting of a white design with red apple silhouettes and a green decorative string. The updated apple pie is available for purchase at Okamedo direct stores and through their online shop for a limited time until the end of December 2026.
